Manchester-based utilities contractor IES Utilities Group has bought Nexus Power out of administration in a deal that strengthens its grip on the high voltage and offshore power markets.<\/p>\n

The \u00a3195,000 deal secures Nexus Power\u2019s assets and workforce, bringing its expertise in extra high voltage cable jointing and offshore power into the\u00a0Integral Energy Solutions fold.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2012, Enniskillen-based Nexus Power also operates out of offices in Chorley in Lancashire.<\/p>\n

It has built a strong name in technical delivery, specialising in jointing up to 400kV on fluidfilled and XLPE systems.<\/p>\n

It also delivers modular power and data distribution packages across commercial, education, healthcare and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

IES chief executive Breandan Flynn said the move marked a \u201csignificant milestone\u201d for the group as it scales up to meet growing UK and European demand for complex energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

In the last two years the business has expanded from a turnover of \u00a327m in 2024 and is now to setting its sights on exceeding \u00a3120m turnover in this financial year with a combined headcount of 800 staff.<\/p>\n

Conor O\u2019Neill will lead the integration of Nexus Power\u2019s team, who will remain in place to ensure continuity for staff and clients.<\/p>\n

Flynn said the acquisition showed IES\u2019s commitment to investing in people and expanding its role as a trusted partner for major projects.<\/p>\n
