{"id":7348,"date":"2025-08-21T11:46:24","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T11:46:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=7348"},"modified":"2025-08-21T11:46:24","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T11:46:24","slug":"civils-winners-revealed-for-12bn-national-grid-high-voltage-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/civils-winners-revealed-for-12bn-national-grid-high-voltage-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Civils winners revealed for \u00a312bn National Grid high voltage work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Grid has completed the award of its High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) infrastructure programme with civil works worth \u00a312bn.<\/p>\n<p>The third and final stage of its \u00a359bn supply chain framework awards for the Great Grid Upgrade follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/2025\/03\/17\/national-grid-names-key-suppliers-for-59bn-hvdc-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cabling and converter station deals announced earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Six HVDC converter civil works suppliers have been awarded positions on Lot 1 of the Framework Agreement totalling approximately \u00a39bn.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"493441\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dsmcls.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSM LOOPER.GIF\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The winners are: Balfour Beatty, BAM Nuttall, Galliford Try, Laing O\u2019Rourke, Skanska and Taylor Woodrow.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, three HVDC onshore cable civil works suppliers have been awarded places on Lot 2 of the Framework, worth an estimated \u00a33.7bn.<\/p>\n<p>They are Balfour Beatty, Murphy, and VolkerFitzpatrick.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"498213\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ardenttide.co.uk%2Fcw%2FArticle-Seamless-Transition.html%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/atl-300-250.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Contracts have been secured for a five-year period, with the potential to extend for a further three years.
