Van Elle new chief executive Mark Cutler has rejigged the leadership team and streamlined the ground engineering contractor’s operating structure.<\/p>\n

The main operating structure has been reduced from eight to five divisions.<\/p>\n

At the firm\u2019s General Piling division, the largest group business unit, director Steve Johnson exits at the end of this month.<\/p>\n

In the interim, he is replaced by group construction director David Warner.\u00a0This follows the appointment of former Eastern Director Steve Bursnell as Contracts Director last month.<\/p>\n

Former Van Elle divisional director Peter Handley is returning after a six-year stint at Skanska Cementation to take up the newly-created role of Strategy and Business Improvement Director.<\/p>\n

He will lead Van Elle\u2019s strategic development, business improvement and innovation programmes.<\/p>\n

John Foster, former commercial director of Saint Goban-owned Facades & Glazing Solutions UK, joins as Van Elle’s new commercial director.<\/p>\n

He will take responsibilty for all commercial activity in the Group as well as business development, estimating and procurement.<\/p>\n

Both take up their new posts in early January.<\/p>\n

New five division operational structure<\/h3>\n

General Piling \u2013 open site driven, CFA and rotary piling
\nSpecialist Piling \u2013 restricted access, low headroom and ground & slope stabilisation
\nHousing \u2013 residential piling and modular foundation solutions
\nRail \u2013 foundation and trackbed solutions in the rail environment
\nGeotechnical Services (trading as STRATA) \u2013 geotechnical investigations and testing\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cutler said: \u201cThe company has been through a lot of change over the last couple of years but the new strengthened leadership team and streamlined divisional structure allows us to accelerate our improvement, more clearly focus on our customer\u2019s needs and better integrate our specialist capabilities across all the sectors we operate in.\u201d<\/p>\n
