Midlands-based Speller Metcalfe has more than trebled pre-tax profit to \u00a33.4m as turnover rose 22% to \u00a3162m in the year to March 2025.<\/p>\n

The family-run building contractor, led by second-generation joint managing directors James and Adrian Speller, restored operating margin to 1.6%, up from just 0.5% last time.<\/p>\n

Year-end cash also strengthened in improved trading to \u00a324m from \u00a319m, giving the firm extra headroom to reinvest and support growth.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the firm has secured close to \u00a3140m of turnover for the 2025\/26 financial year.<\/p>\n

Beyond this, a further \u00a3100m of projects secured through project construction services agreements will extend the pipeline well into the next financial year, reflecting a robust and confident future order book.<\/p>\n

Adrian Speller added: \u201cJames and I see ourselves as custodians of this second-generation family business.<\/p>\n
