But we all have influence \u2013 over our people, our processes and the way we build. We must use that to change things for the better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"843\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"482425\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fbrilliantideasltd.co.uk%2Fnet-recovery-system%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/7175-BI---Safety-Net-Recovery-MPU_s2.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"1171\">With more than 35 years at Briggs &amp; Forrester, Curtis highlighted building safety compliance, digital investment and tackling skills shortages as his presidential priorities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"1171\">He warned the sector faces a critical threat from an ageing workforce, falling training provision and a lack of assessors to support apprenticeships.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"1171\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"488804\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.creaghconcrete.com%2Fproducts%2Fspantherm%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE-spantherm.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1173\" data-end=\"1316\">Curtis said he would expand BESA\u2019s \u2018Skills Legacy\u2019 programme, encouraging experienced engineers to share knowledge with colleges and trainees.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1536\">He added: \u201cMany engineers underestimate the value of their experience.
