The City of London Corporation has approved plans for a 31-storey officer tower at 130 Fenchurch Street.<\/p>\n

Formerly known as Fountain House, the new building features a staggered, \u201cjewel-like\u201d design, giving it a distinct architectural character within the Square Mile\u2019s cluster of skyscrapers.<\/p>\n

The plans from Insurance giant Aviva\u00a0will provide 57,491 sq m of Grade-A office space.<\/p>\n

The existing building is scheduled for demolition in 2026 with the new tower due to be completed by 2030.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the City of London Corporation Planning and Transportation Committee, Tom Sleigh, said: \u201c130 Fenchurch captures our ambition to unlock growth: a striking new workplace in the heart of the City, with routes and views that open up the City for everyone.<\/p>\n

“This is about more than one building \u2014 it\u2019s part of a pattern of proactive planning decisions that are helping to shape a future-ready Square Mile: greener, denser, more dynamic, and firmly aligned with the UK\u2019s growth mission.<\/p>\n
