Wrexham Council has lodged detailed plans to kick-start the city\u2019s long-awaited Gateway regeneration with a new brewery, taproom, museum, and commercial office building next to Wrexham General Station.<\/p>\n

The scheme forms part of the wider Wrexham Gateway project, which includes the new Kop stand at the ST\u014dK Racecourse and a transport hub.<\/p>\n

Under the hybrid planning application, a former Jewson builders’ merchant warehouse would be converted into a Wrexham Lager brewery, while the Cambrian Sheds would be repurposed into a taproom and museum celebrating the city\u2019s brewing heritage.<\/p>\n

Outline consent is also being sought for a five-storey office block, a public plaza outside the station entrance, and a pedestrian footbridge linking the north end of the site.<\/p>\n

Plans also include new bus stops, EV charging points, cycle storage, and improved access from Mold Road for pedestrians and cyclists.<\/p>\n

The redevelopment will also involve demolition of the former Girl Guides and Wrexham District Scouts buildings to make way for new facilities.<\/p>\n

SHR Studio Architecture is leading the design team with support from cost consultant, Cushman & Wakefield, M&E, Hoare Lea, and civil & structural engineer, Civic Engineers.<\/p>\n
