The Welsh Government has reignited plans for the long-delayed A483 Llandeilo and Ffairfach bypass, launching early market engagement for a \u00a3100m road scheme to cut congestion and improve safety in Carmarthenshire.<\/p>\n

The project, confirmed in the National Transport Delivery Plan, will see a new route built to divert traffic away from the congested centre of Llandeilo and the A483 crossing through Ffairfach.<\/p>\n

A preferred route has already been identified, and the government is now seeking feedback from contractors and consultants before finalising its procurement and delivery model.<\/p>\n

The project will include a 100m bridge over the River Towy.<\/p>\n

An in-person briefing will be held on 27 October at the Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff, followed by a supplier questionnaire due 10 November.<\/p>\n

The full construction contract is expected to go out to tender in February 2026, with works starting by July 2026 and running through to early 2031.<\/p>\n
