London’s Hackney Council has kicked off the hunt for a design and build contractor to deliver 341 new homes across its De Beauvoir Estate regeneration scheme.<\/p>\n

The De Beauvoir New Homes Project aims to deliver the extra homes alongside commercial space and sweeping public realm upgrades. Around 45% of the new homes will be affordable, including around 90 for social rent.<\/p>\n

Targeting 10 infill plots within the existing estate, the scheme will transform underused land around the 1960s-built towers, which currently house 870 flats.<\/p>\n

The council is using a two-stage competitive flexible procedure to select a contractor.<\/p>\n

Five bidders will be shortlisted for a pre-construction services agreement to take the project design through RIBA Stages 3 to 4 and prepare the Building Safety Act Gateway 2 submission, and develop an open-book tender for main works.<\/p>\n

Construction is expected to run from September 2026 to September 2030.<\/p>\n
