McAleer & Rushe has sealed a \u00a350m deal to deliver developer Firethorn’s purpose-built student accommodation project in Stratford, East London.<\/p>\n

The firm has just broken ground on the 284-bed Poland House development, which marks the first partnership between the Northern Irish contractor and the expanding real estate investor.<\/p>\n

Designed by Henley Halebrown, the scheme will replace the original Poland House building with four interlocking red-brick blocks rising from eight to twelve storeys. Around 35% of the beds will be classed as affordable.<\/p>\n

The project is targeting a BREEAM \u201cExcellent\u201d sustainability rating.<\/p>\n

Residents will have a range of facilities including study areas, communal lounges and a gym<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Set on Stratford High Street, the development sits within walking distance of UCL East and University of the Arts London, offering easy access to the Olympic Park and Westfield shopping centre.<\/p>\n

Firethorn head of development Paul Martin said: \u201cPoland House is the third student development in our expanding Living portfolio as we strengthen our presence in prime university cities across the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Poland House scheme is due to complete ahead of the 2028\/29 academic year and joins Firethorn\u2019s growing Living portfolio, which also includes PBSA schemes in Hackney Wick, Stratford and Edinburgh\u2019s Leith Walk.<\/p>\n
