Stepnell is predicting turnover will jump by a quarter to \u00a3140m in its first year as a fully independent contractor.<\/p>\n

The family-owned builder posted another solid performance for the year to March 2025, keeping profits steady at just over \u00a31m as revenue edged up to \u00a3112m from \u00a3108m.<\/p>\n

Chief executive Tom Wakeford said the results marked a platform for stronger growth following last month\u2019s demerger, which formally separated Stepnell\u2019s construction arm from the wider property business.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201c2024\/25 has been an opportunity to build on our strong reputation and solid foundations, which provide an exciting opportunity for growth. With the demerger completed, positive framework renewals, a significantly improved cash position and a strong pipeline of work, the business is well positioned for the coming years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stepnell has now chalked up five straight years of profit and enters 2026 with 96% of its forecast turnover already secured.<\/p>\n

Wakeford added: \u201cWe are ambitious and are currently focusing on setting longer-term plans for the business. The organisation is in a strong position heading into 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

The contractor said its growth strategy is being fuelled by repeat clients, framework wins and regional expansion, including the opening of a new Liverpool base.<\/p>\n

Investment in directly owned plant has also helped trim operating costs, while tighter governance and faster final-account settlements have strengthened cash reserves.<\/p>\n
