{"id":953,"date":"2018-11-29T09:17:09","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T09:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=953"},"modified":"2018-11-29T09:17:09","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T09:17:09","slug":"150m-bournemouth-winter-gardens-revamp-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/150m-bournemouth-winter-gardens-revamp-approved\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a3150m Bournemouth Winter Gardens revamp approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Morgan Sindall\u2019s plan has been approved to transform one of Bournemouth\u2019s most famous locations into a \u00a3150m shopping, leisure and homes complex.<\/p>\n<p>Bournemouth Development Company, a partnerships between Morgan Sindall and the local council, aims to build 350 apartments on the former Winter Gardens site, in what is the most ambitious development plan the seaside town has ever seen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"136297\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.artofbuilding.org%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Art of Building 300x250.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The plans envisage the complete transformation of the 4.89 acre site, used as a car park since the demolition of the concert hall in 2006.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2017-09-12-at-20.00.24.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-152054 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2017-09-12-at-20.00.24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1072\" height=\"742\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One, two and three-bed apartments will be contained in four multi-storey buildings with\u00a0landscaped grounds for leisure, recreation and residential amenity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"128602\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Felfinkitchens.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3DConstruction%2520Enquirer%26utm_medium%3DMPU%26utm_campaign%3D100718%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Elfin_Construction-Enquirer-mpu_cyan-300x250-5.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 225 public parking spaces currently on site will be re-provided in a new below-ground car park. There will be a new piazza at the junction of Exeter and Cranborne Road.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor John Beesley, Leader of Bournemouth Council, said: \u201cWinter Gardens is a strategically important regeneration site in the town centre.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This would be the largest project of its kind ever undertaken in Bournemouth.
