{"id":955,"date":"2018-11-29T09:17:11","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T09:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=955"},"modified":"2018-11-29T09:17:11","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T09:17:11","slug":"bouygues-wins-100m-london-royal-mail-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/bouygues-wins-100m-london-royal-mail-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Bouygues wins \u00a3100m London Royal Mail scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>House builder Taylor Wimpey has awarded Bouygues a \u00a3100m-plus contract to deliver the first phase of its redevelopment of an old Royal Mail and Post Office site in London.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Postmark&#8221; site is located at Mount Pleasant near the capital\u2019s\u00a0 Clerkenwell and Farringdon districts, close to one of the central London Crossrail stations.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor Wimpey snapped up the 6.5-acre swathe of land last year\u00a0 in a deal worth nearly \u00a3194m, which was hailed as indicating renewed confidence in the capital&#8217;s housing market<\/p>\n<p>It has consent for a mixed-use scheme of 681 homes, alongside retail and offices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/77990183_1738_illustrative_aerial_wm-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-260698\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/77990183_1738_illustrative_aerial_wm-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Fabienne Viala, chair of Bouygues UK, said: \u201cWe are excited about our new collaboration with the teams of Taylor Wimpey Central London on this residential project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the past, Taylor Wimpey and Bouygues UK have collectively demonstrated the quality of our expertise, our partnership approach and our combined capacity for innovation on such residential schemes as North Wharf Gardens and Greenwich Millennium Village. We are looking forward to building the first phase of the Postmark project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>West Central 1 is the first phase of a four-phase masterplan.<\/p>\n<p>It consists of 214 homes, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments, in a building ranging in height from six to 15 storeys.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme has been designed to reach a BREEAM \u201cExcellent\u201d rating. Residents will benefit from shared spaces including a concierge service, a rooftop terrace, a cinema and a gym.
