{"id":9566,"date":"2025-12-09T08:46:48","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T08:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=9566"},"modified":"2025-12-09T08:46:48","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T08:46:48","slug":"mace-design-director-joins-mclaren","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/mace-design-director-joins-mclaren\/","title":{"rendered":"Mace design director joins McLaren"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>McLaren has appointed Lucy Craig as design director for its Construction Management and Specialist Projects division.<\/p>\n<p>Craig joins from Mace where she was operations director and design lead working on major projects including Paddington Square and Battersea Power Station.<\/p>\n<p>She gained a Masters in Construction Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2018, which enables her to lead multi-disciplinary, integrated design and engineering teams, aligning with clients\u2019 requirements at the start of a project.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"498213\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ardenttide.co.uk%2Farticles%2FWhen-HMRC-Comes-Knocking.aspx%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ardent new.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Vince Lydon, managing director for Construction Management and Specialist Projects at McLaren Construction, said: \u201cBuilding strong design skills and governance in house is important for complex projects and programmes delivered under a construction management model, where understanding clients\u2019 needs is key from the outset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McLaren\u2019s Construction Management and Specialist Projects division is currently delivering Cardiff Arena on behalf of Live Nation and Colmore Gate, the refurbishment of an iconic office tower in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Craig said: \u201cMcLaren has significantly invested in technology, bringing the design and engineering practices closer together.
